PUTRAJAYA: Deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says the ongoing royal crisis in Negeri Sembilan should be resolved through dialogue rather than the courts.
“The way (forward) is to respect the existing sovereign institution of the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU).

“And in my view, the best path is through negotiations, and there is no need to bring the matter before the courts,” the Umno president told reporters after attending National TVET Day celebrations here today
Zahid was asked for his views on resolving the ongoing Negeri Sembilan royal crisis.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir remains the recognised ruler of Negeri Sembilan and that differing views on his position should be settled through the courts.
This comes after Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar was reportedly proclaimed as the 12th Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan by the Jelebu undang, Maarof Mat Rashad, on behalf of the four undangs, at a ceremony held at a hotel in Melaka yesterday.
The secretary of the Negeri Sembilan council of customary chieftains, Raja Norazli Raja Nordin, has since said he may initiate contempt of court proceedings against those behind the purported appointment, which allegedly took place after the High Court had granted an interim injunction to preserve the status quo of the council and his position as secretary.
The court had restrained six people from convening or holding any meeting, including a special sitting that had been scheduled for that day.
