PETALING JAYA: The Selangor education department has vowed to take stern action following a viral case of bullying involving students at a school in Rawang.
The department said it took seriously the circulation of a video of the incident and that it would ensure the parties responsible would be punished for their “misconduct”.
“We will not compromise on any form of misconduct that could affect the safety and wellbeing of students.
“No one will be protected. Stern action will be taken against anyone found responsible, in accordance with existing regulations,” it said in a statement.
A video, which has since gone viral, showed a student repeatedly assaulting a schoolmate while others watched and even recorded the incident on their phones.
The incident comes amid the commencement of the Anti-Bullying Act 2026, which provides an avenue to resolve bullying complaints involving minors.
