PETALING JAYA: A braking system problem caused an LRT train at the Abdullah Hukum station in Bangsar to emit smoke this morning, according to Rapid KL.
The rail operator said the incident occurred at 9.44am, adding that the affected train was immediately removed from service.
“All passengers safely disembarked at the Abdullah Hukum station before continuing their journey on the next train,” it said in a statement today.
No injuries were reported, and services on the Kelana Jaya Line continued to operate as usual.
Rapid KL said its technical team is currently conducting inspections and repair work on the affected train to ensure it meets safety standards before it is allowed to resume operations.
It apologised for the inconvenience caused to affected passengers. RapidKL said passengers’ safety remained its top priority.
