PETALING JAYA: Johor authorities have ordered the Network School in Forest City, which came under scrutiny following claims that Israeli nationals were among its participants, to shut down effective immediately, menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi said.

In a statement, Onn Hafiz said the Iskandar Puteri City Council had ordered for the tech-commune to be shut down after reviewing findings by the authorities.

He said the state government always welcomes high-quality investments that benefit the economy, create job opportunities, and drive the development of the state.

“However, no investor, company, or organisation can be placed above the sovereignty of the country’s law.”

Launched in 2024, the Network School is a private residential community founded by Balaji Srinivasan, a former Coinbase chief technology officer and investor.
