PETALING JAYA: Former federal minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek has stepped down as chairman of the Federal Land Development Authority, or Felda, following the end of his contract on June 30.
Felda said Shabery mobilised various key initiatives to support the agenda of strengthening and transforming the government agency throughout his tenure.
This included efforts to bolster its corporate governance, build strategic partnerships and improve stakeholder confidence in Felda, it said.
“Felda thanks him for his contributions and excellent leadership. May the solid foundation he has built continue to drive Felda’s progress in the future,” it said, according to Berita Harian.
Shabery, a former communications minister, was first appointed Felda chairman in July 2023 on a two-year contract, replacing former Terengganu menteri besar Idris Jusoh.
He stepped down on June 30 last year but was reappointed to the post just a few weeks later.
