PETALING JAYA: Johor menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi has accused the federal government of repeatedly delaying the launch of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) master plan.
Onn Hafiz said the master plan was already complete and should be launched without further delay, as further postponements could hamper investor confidence and economic momentum.
“The plan was initially scheduled to be launched at the end of 2025. It was later moved to March 30 (before being postponed). Now, it has been postponed again,” he said in a post on X.
The JS-SEZ is a flagship cross-border economic initiative between Johor and Singapore aimed at boosting investment, economic integration, and high-value development in southern Johor.
It covers the Iskandar development region, Forest City, the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex, and Desaru – a land area of 357,128ha.
