
PETALING JAYA: Police are tracking down a man who allegedly hugged, kissed and groped a woman while she was walking home in Setia Alam yesterday.
Shah Alam police chief Sarudin Samah said the victim in her early 20s filed a report at 9.06pm yesterday after the incident, which occurred around 7.10pm.
Sarudin said the victim was walking alone through an alleyway in her housing area, on her way home from work, when the man grabbed her from behind, Bernama reported.
“The suspect, who wore a red shirt and black pants, hugged the victim from behind, covered her mouth, and then kissed and groped her before fleeing the scene,” he said.
The case is being probed under Section 354 of the Penal Code for use of criminal force with intent to outrage one’s modesty.
