JOHOR BAHRU: The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) hopes to contest two Johor state assembly seats when the elections are held, party president J Loga Bala Mohan said.

He said the party had conveyed this to Johor Barisan Nasional chairman Onn Hafiz Ghazi yesterday, and the party would accept any decision made by the coalition leadership.

PPP also intends to contest seats in the Negeri Sembilan elections, but the matter has yet to be discussed with BN and would be negotiated at a later stage.

On the Johor elections, he said PPP had an understanding with BN “and we will resolve this through consensus”.

“We will not make any demand (if seats are not allocated),” he said after a party leadership meeting here today.

Loga, who will lead the PPP election machinery in Johor, said the party would assist BN throughout the campaign for the state election.
