WASHINGTON: Veteran actor James Handy, best known for his appearances in “Top Gun: Maverick” and 1995’s “Jumanji”, has died after being fatally stabbed at his home in Los Angeles. He was 81.

German Press Agency (dpa) reported that emergency responders were called to a residence in the northwestern part of the city on Wednesday morning.

Police said Handy was found unconscious in the front garden of his property with a stab wound to the chest. He was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

A suspect later turned himself in to authorities at the scene. He is said to be the son of Handy’s girlfriend, who lived at the same residence.
