MADRID: Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio is set to miss the start of the La Liga season with a thigh injury.
“He has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the (thigh) of his right leg,” said Madrid in a statement today.
The 23-year-old centre-back will miss between four to six weeks, according to Spanish reports.
Jose Mourinho’s Madrid kick off their season at Espanyol on Aug 22 before hosting Real Sociedad on Aug 26 and Malaga on Aug 30.
