
PETALING JAYA: Federal police have announced a reshuffle involving several senior officers, with Perlis police chief Muhammad Abdul Halim to become a deputy director in Bukit Aman.
Muhammad will be promoted to deputy director in Bukit Aman’s internal security and public order department effective Aug 3, a shift which comes with the rank of police commissioner.
In a statement, Bukit Aman also announced that Sentul police chief Basri Sagoni would be made a principal assistant director in its D7 unit under the criminal investigation department (CID).
D7 is the force’s anti-vice, gambling and secret societies division.
Dang Wangi police chief Sazalee Adam will be appointed as Kuala Lumpur police CID chief, while Kota Belud police chief Shahrudin Mat Husain will take over as Kota Kinabalu police chief.
Kuala Muda deputy police chief S Saravanan, meanwhile, will be made Taiping police chief.
Their appointments will take effect on Sept 1.
