JOHOR BAHRU: Parti Bersama Malaysia, the party founded by Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, will field 15 candidates for the Johor state elections in the party’s first electoral foray.
Bersama president Syukri Razab, who announced the candidate list tonight, said it marked the start of the party’s competition with Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional.
Bersama co-leader Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad described the contest in Johor as a “calculated risk”.
“This is indeed crazy work. But this is also a calculated risk. We want to contest in places where we feel there is potential for us to cause a surprise,” he said.
He said Bersama is a “political startup” which would challenge the existing political landscape. “We are no walkover,” he said. “Bersama will fight to win.”
“We are not easy opponents,” he stressed.
