PETALING JAYA: PAS will contest 11 seats in the Johor state election, dropping one incumbent as it unveiled its full lineup of candidates.
PAS vice-president and Perikatan Nasional chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar unveiled the party’s lineup in Muar tonight.
Among the candidates is former Johor executive councillor Mazlan Bujang, who will contest the Kahang seat. Mazlan was previously Bersatu’s assemblyman for Puteri Wangsa before joining PAS.
PAS has also replaced its incumbent assemblyman in Maharani, Abdul Aziz Talib, with Anuar Hayan.
The Islamic party has also retained its focus on the DAP-held Jementah seat, naming Saifullah Abd Wahab as its candidate. The party has contested the constituency in previous elections, including in 2018 and 2022.
The other PAS candidates are Normala Sudirman (Tenang), Arshed Yahya (Simpang Jeram), Amin Sailan (Sungai Balang), Halim Kepol (Semerah), Ahmad Rosdi Bahari (Sri Medan), Hasnul Hakimi Hussien (Endau), Yuhanita Yunan (Pasir Raja) and Khirul Muntanazar Ismail (Tiram).
The Johor election is set for July 11, with nominations on June 27 and early voting on July 7.
