PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Space Agency (BPAngkasa) has confirmed receiving reports of a bright light in Sabah’s skies on Thursday night.
“BPAngkasa, in collaboration with relevant agencies, is actively monitoring the situation,” the science, technology and innovation ministry said in a statement, Bernama reported.
No official reports have been received so far regarding rocket debris from space, it said.
The ministry advised the public not to touch any suspicious objects.
Anyone finding such objects is requested to report them immediately to the authorities by calling 999 or contacting BPAngkasa directly at 03-8885 8685 or bpadg@mosti.gov.my.
The ministry also urged the public not to speculate and to rely only on official sources.
